Lombard Street

[San Francisco, California, USA]
Lombard Street light painted.
Lombard Street is known for one of its sections, which has eight sharp, consecutive turns, making this street the most winding street in the world. The street’s design arose from the idea (dated 1922), to make hill’s natural grade of 27% less challenging for vehicles and pedestrians.

Bay Bridge

[San Francisco, California, USA]
Night photo session on jet-lag, once again: this time under the bridge.

Forest Canyon Overlook

[Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA]
On the Train Ridge Road (US34) – experiencing alpine tundra and waiting for more stormy clouds. Stop #5 – Forest Canyon Overlook.
For sure Train Ridge Road is one of the most scenic America’s roads and the highest continuous highway in USA. It was not possible to get much further, as the road was still closed for winter season (picture taken in May).
Quite unusual to get at this elevation (11716 feet, which is over 3,5km) with such comfortable road.

Yellow hope

[Death Valley National Park, California, USA]
Death Valley – saline, cracked shell. It is the hottest and driest of the national parks in USA, with temperatures reaching 50°C. The only water you can find here is very salty and not drinkable, of course. Even thought, some plants have adapted to this environment – impressing determination to survive.

Wild, Wild West is dead

[Benton, California, USA]
Somewhere on the road during crazy road-trip from San Francisco,CA to Denver,CO. Refuel before heading to Death Valley’s deserts. Guy riding a horse is slowly approaching bar at the petrol station. Do I have sun-stroke already? It was something mystic, unreal. Wild, Wild West is dead.

Giant(s) pitcher

[San Francisco, California, USA]
San Francisco Giants vs. Colorado Rockies: Giants’ pitcher to defeat Rockies’ batter.

Hotel@night

Fuel clock

[Los Angeles, California, USA]
Petersen Automotive Museum – LA must see for all moto maniacs.
They have very nice petrol pumps collection – sounds boring but actually it isn’t. One of the most interesting pumps looks like a wall clock. After a while you realize, that it is scaled not up to 12, but from 1 to 0 and the arrows indicate gallons and tenths.
Time is money – fuel is money.

Navajo’s portrait

[Canyon de Chelly, Arizona, USA]
When you enter Navajo Indians area, there are some DO’s and DON’Ts you should respect. One of them is not to take pictures of people without asking permission.
This Navaho mother was happy to grant me a permission, especially after selling me some souvenirs from her stand, located next to one of canyon’s vista points.
