Green maverick

[Jeju Island, Korea]
Inside Sunrise Peak crater.

Multi level

[Nikko, Japan]
One of the most beautiful wood-carvings I’ve ever seen, created as multi-level construction, with amazing level of details, being somehow unusual for Japan culture – therefore belonging to Japan’s “must see” list.
On this picture: wood-carvings located under temple’s roof construction in Nikko complex.

Foo Lion

[Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong]
Chinese guardian lion, also known as Foo (or Fu) Lion – it was believed that it has powerful mythic protective powers. Foo Lin’s have traditionally stood in front of e.g. temples. Some of them, have a single large pearl in mouth, which are opened only partially, so that the pearl can roll inside the lion’s mouth but it is sized is such a way, that the pearl cannot be removed.

Tough challenge

[Seoul, Korea]
Although this situation might look somehow dramatic, this picture was taken out of the context as the parent was standing just out of this frame, trying to convince this little boy to keep smiling, as there were family photo session ongoing.

Spiral decor

[Odawara, Japan]
Odarawa castle gate’s roof: amazing balance between level of details and simplicity.

Focus

[Hakone, Japan]
After few minutes of staring through the window at the archers practice, I was invited to their premises, to be able to take some pictures. The atmosphere was really amazing: I was afraid to take pictures and to interfere archers ritual with camera’s mirror clapping. Shooting ritual was felt to be treated almost like sanctity. Uncommon, amazing experience.

Bag-mascot

[Tokyo, Japan]
Subway is exciting – you never know whom you can meet there – especially in Tokyo.
It was hard not to stare at this young couple and their mascot. Yes – it was alive. Yes – it was wearing a scarf.
I love Japan!

Orange cab

[Tokyo, Japan]
I have no idea that is the message of the sticker placed next to the rear doors of Tokyo’s taxi, but those eyes suggest something rather serious and unpleasant.
I have skipped this taxi and taken the next one…

Tree Energy

[Seoul, Korea]
Once I’ve noticed this older man in one of Seoul’s parks, first thought was that he must be “tree energy drainer”, as he was standing still like this for a longer time. Even though it might sound funny, try to google “tree energy” – plenty of people can feel it, actually. Have you ever tried?

Tokyo International Forum directions

[Tokyo, Japan]
In case you get lost: go ahead!

38th parallel north

[DMZ, Korea]
Vista point at Korean DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) between North and South.
Korean DMZ is a 4km wide strip of land between North and South Korea, crossing the 38th paralel north and serving as buffer area.
This is the most heavily militarized border in the world.

This spyglass was pointed towards North Korean fake-city: nice attempt to convince tourists that North Korea is wealthy and well prospering land of happiness.
Price: 500KRW (~0.33Euro)

Girls havin’ fun

[Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong]
Mahjong – simple things can give you a lot of fun. No age limitation. Wanna join?

Police line-up

[Seoul, Korea]
Young Police squad practise in front of Deoksugung palace.
I’ve seen similar sights many times during my Seoul trip. Still do not know what is the story behind, but it was quite puzzling and somehow distressing, each time.

Deoksugung

[Seoul, Korea]
At Deoksugung, also known as Gyeongun-gung, Deoksugung Palace, or Deoksu Palace.
One of my favourite places in Seoul.

Japan style car-art

[Tokyo, Japan]
Have you ever falled in love with a car? Pure Japan-style. Pure power. Pure hi-tech. Now finally available in Europe – for those who can afford it.
Nissan GTR: “The legend is real”.

Crispy pink

[Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong]
One of the things I love in Asia are street markets. Hong Kong have them as well and Flower Market being one of most colourful ones is worth visiting. It’s located in Mong Kok, next to the famous Bird Garden. Variety of colours is astonishing, what is actually not visible on this picture.

Lantern canopy

[Seoul, Korea]
Lantern canopy at the Bongeunsa temple.

Road Runner

[Hakone, Japan]
When you see fun-bike like this, you want to have it even if you do not have driving license.
Surprisingly, proud owner was from Europe.

Dark rider

[Seogwipo, Jeju Island, Korea]
Night photo session in Seogwipo – on jet-lag as always …while suddenly, Dark Rider gracefully appeared on the pedestrian crossing.

Sky-made pattern

[Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong]
Sky reflections of the hotel’s windows during cloudless, sunny day created this pattern composition.

Wedding’s zone

[Miyazaki, Japan]
As weddings are one of the most popular subjects among photographer’s, I will also present some of my wedding’s pictures under project called [wedding’s zone].
This particular picture was taken in hotel’s chapel.

Nature is beauty

[Seoul, Korea]
Nature is beauty – beauty doesn’t need any comments.

Moonlight flower

[Tokyo, Japan]
At Tokyo’s oldest temple – Sensō-ji, with pagoda of Senso-ji in the background.
Note: Flower was plastic, grain was post-processed. Moon was real.

Xiangqi

[Seoul, Korea]
Xiangqi is commonly called Chinese chess, in English. Far from being similar to what I knew as chess.
