Salut Gilles

[Montreal, Quebec, Canada]
Tribute to Gilles Villeneuve at Montreal’s circuit start line (Circuit Gilles Villeneuve).
Gilles Villeneuve was F1 driver in years 1977-82. He died in crash during 1982 Belgium GP qualifying session – see more at wikipedia.

The Wall of Champions

[Montreal, Quebec, Canada]
Turn #12 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve: first of two narrow turns in the final chicane just before the Wall of Champions (in background).
Wall of Champions became famous after 1999 Canada F1 GP, when Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve ended their races on that wall.
The curbs of the depicted chicane were modified in 2005, by making them higher and less visible, what has further increased difficulty in those turns. Looking at the picture, those curbs look definitely more challenging that you might get impression after watching F1 GP in TV.
